Wafa Sultan

I wonder whether America today can keep this woman safe? We may have to offer her the witness protection program in Israel. To my ears, her rhetoric sounds exactly like that of an extremist Muslim cleric inciting violence. Then I read the English subtitles, and I thought it was a Purim Spiel (parody). Yael thinks Wafa Sultan has a death wish. The video is 5 1/2 minutes long: what do you think?

I have to depend on the subtitles. She makes sense to me in the subtitles. What am I missing?

I depend on the subtitles for the text, and she makes perfect sense to me as a Westerner. But in the context, a broadcast directed at Arabic speakers on the Al Jazeera network, I think a majority of her listeners will perceive what she says as an attack on their beliefs and their honor, neither of which are based on rationalism.

I've seen this video before, and always assumed she had a death wish, but now that I read your post it occurs to me that the subtitles could be made up. Hmmm.
