A Day in the Life...(Updated)*

Here's what happened today:

I took a bus from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to have coffee with a friend and then attend a session of a conference where some interesting people were speaking. The bus to Jerusalem was a little late because it stopped to pick up the passengers from another bus which had broken down.

Afterwards, I took a bus from Jerusalem back to Tel Aviv, and then walked my dog. The return bus was on time (45 minutes). During the ride, I received a call from my daughter-in-law, forwarded to my cellphone from my USA SkypeIn phone number.

Here what didn't happen to me today:

No suicide bombers
No Qassam rockets
No stabbings

Is this newsworthy or what?

*(Update)
I just remembered: 40 years ago I lived on Manhattan's Upper West Side. In those days, the crime rate there was off the charts. I used to call up my brother in Delaware and say: "Hello. I didn't get mugged today."

Plus ça change, plus ça reste la même chose.

Whew! When I was reading your post, I always worry about the busses over there.

Glad it was a quiet, uneventful day.

Fred, Samirah - Most days are good. It's the bad ones that make headlines.

I'm so impressed that you can get all those French accent marks to show in Blogger!

I Cut and Pasted letters with the accents I wanted from a French blog. Your Mother, the Font Hacker.

Savta,
Shabbat Shalom! Hopefully my comment will go through this time. I've been having Blogger problems.
This post was especially interesting to me as it made me wonder how you feel now about your decision to make aliya. I'd be interested in hearing about your reflections from this current perspective.
I'm going to visit elswhere now.
Shavouah Tov Savta,

goldenlucyd - Every day I am happier than than the day before. I have gradually come to the conclusion that a) there will be no peace in the Middle East in my lifetime, and b) Israel is the best place in the world for me.
