Finally completed, the improvised design-as-you-go vest with the big-enough pockets. Here's how it looked six weeks ago. I broke the M & M code of knitting design: Measure and Multiply.
Chancy, the rose is closer to the actual color. The photo was taken in daylight by a skillful photographer, whereas the vivid purple photo was taken by me, with flash.

Nice job on the vest. Since I don't do any sort of needle work myself I am impressed by those who do.
The phoro of 6 weeks ago showed the color more as a vivid purple and this one looks rose. Which is it?

i tried to learn to knit once... i ended up needing stitches.
it didnt work out.
