Totem in Victoria, BC

So far we've done the British Columbia Museum, the Miniature World dollhouse exhibit, had tea in a Victorian tea room, bought some souvenir knick-knacks and enjoyed the non-rainy weather.

Our somewhat sedate touring pace picked up a bit when Renaissance Woman and elswhere arrive to join us yesterday, whisking us off to dinner at a funky eatery called John's Place. Instead of the local hockey fetish, the walls were decorated with U.S. baseball paraphernalia, including a fantasy mural of a baseball field, modeled, I think, on Boston's Fenway Park, featuring billboards advertising John's Place. I was astounded to find falafel on the menu, described as a tribute to John's memories of working in Jerusalem! There's just no escape!
