No More TV

Here are some of the DVD's I've watched since I jettisoned cable and no longer watch TV:

Dr. Strangelove
Rear Window
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
Mrs. Miniver
It Happened One Night
Pat and Mike
The Philadelphia Story
The Maltese Falcon
Intermezzo

Yes, I am living in the past. And knitting.

Dr. Strangelove was such an odd movie. So odd, that I've seen it many times.

I couldn't live without TV. No way.

I love about half those movies: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Mrs. Miniver, It Happened One Night, The Phila. Story. Rear Window is excellent as well.

We all live in the past. We are nothing, really, but a collection of our memories.

I like to watch the specials on History Channel and Discovery Channel, but I really keep the satellite tv system going so my kids and wife don't feel cut off from the world. We live way out in the woods, and you can only get tv here with a satellite receiver. I listen to the news on shortwave. I used to listen to BBC for years until they got so ugly about Americans, and Radio Canada did the same. But I can listen to VOA. I never have been able to get KOL Israel though I've tried for years. As you say though, as long as your internet system is working, you should be o.k. on the news.

I adore Philadelphia Story! Though in general I don't care for the "romantic comedy" genre, P.S. is one of my all-time favorites. Hubby and I have watched it countless times. I will never get tired of it.

I assume we're all talking about the classic film with Ms Hepburn, as any other version would be heretical. Best. Movie. Ever.
