Bank Misery, Part VIII

Part I Part II Part III Part IV Part V Part VI Part VII

It's been a while since you've heard from me about the bank story, because slowly slowly the transition has been happening. Until this morning, when the management company for my apartment called to say that my payment for June was rejected. This is the first month that the payment is supposed to come from Bank Discount, not Bank Mizrahi, so obviously something has gone wrong. Bank Discount says no request for funds has been made by the management company, so they're sending the form by fax to the management company to examine. The management company called last month when they got the form to check that I really wanted to switch banks, and to scold me for not warning them in advance! The Bank Discount people recognize my name over the phone, and they're quite sweet, so at least that part is an improvement. But I started this process in March and it's not finished yet. Oh my.

What a pain. I hope it's been all worked out by now.

Hi Fred- I'm not certain the bank thing has been worked out, but I gave up checking until next week because the issue has been superseded by a faulty air-conditioner and a (minor) medical event. As Roseanna Roseannadanna said, "It's always something!"

See it from the positive side, since you are retired there is something to work on/at.

Mongrel, It's not as though I have nothing else to do, and volunteering for the bank was not high on my priority list. Haven't heard anything from anyone this week, though, so maybe this thing has resolved itself magically.
